In McMaster’s Department of Economics, you will have a team dedicated to your success as a student in the PhD Program. A Pathway to Post Doctoral Success

Our PhD Program provide excellent preparatory training for post doctoral studies in economics or related fields.

Post Doctoral Work

Each year a handful of our PhD Candidates pass their thesis defense, completing their PhD and moving into their career in Economics. In the last 5 years our PhD students have seen great success entering the work force

*All graduates began a career in their desired field within a year of graduation, based on McMasters Economics PhD graduates from 2018 to present.

Meet Our Recent PhD Graduates

Alex began an Assistant Professorship in the Department with Tenure at the University of Calgary within 1 month of graduating.

Alyssa will be continuing her role a Research Coordinator at the Productivity Partnership.

Yihong took on a Post Doc Research Associate position at Western University within 1 month of graduating in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostastics.

Julius joined University of Bristol, Economics Department before graduation, as an Assistant professor.
